Hey guys. I'm new here and just figured I'd take a wild stab in the dark and see if this was possible and not just me being crazy. Ok so this morning I wrecked my 2000 ranger. Cruising down the freeway when tread separated on passenger rear tire. No biggie right? Wrong. Slowly start goin to the shoulder when snap!!! Yanks to the right then when I try to straighten out veers HARD to the left. Fish tail/spin out then front right of truck slams into center median, rear passenger hits next then me and the truck are dragged about 50 yards (what
Cop counted out) against the wall. After i finally kick my way out i walk around my poor baby. All tires are completely fine!! Back passenger tread is partially missing but still aired! Ok now i found what i think the problem was. Tie rod on front passenger side was snapped. Near perfect. That's why I had no control. From what I figure the frames toast, and for obvious reasons the body. So my question is what should I do? Try fixing it(too much money IMO)? Swap all mechanical from my truck into a twin truck that is missing all Said mechanical parts(Ie tranny engine etc. Etc.)? Or just part it out and move on?
call the insurance. if your frame is toast there is no point of fixing it, only reason i didn't keep mine and rebuild it was because the frame got bent too
