Default Oil pressure gauge

To day when I started my truck, every thing seemed normal till I looked down at my gauges. My oil pressure gauge was wiggling. The truck ran normal, the whole way to work, jus the gauge wiggled all the way. Wasn't alot maybe a needles width. It's like the gauge had ADHD and couldn't stay still. It didn't over heat, didn't sound weird or anything, and it didn't do it the whole way home.

So in wondering if it has something to do with the cold (it was like 40 degrees this morning) or is it a clue that some thing big is gunna go?

Only time I've ever seen an oil gauge go crazy (way more play than what you mentioned) was driving an 01 ranger 40 miles with a HORRIBLE rod knock. The wiggle you have I can't personally explain though. Maybe the oil pump is on its way out???

Is it something that i should worry about? everyone i talked to (my machanic and my friend from work) say unless its moving a lot don't worry about it. if its something i should worry about id like to know so i can get it fixed tomrrow. I wouldn't think it would be something to bad since it didn't do it on the way home. My fear is the oil pump, my friend had it happen to his ranger, but he had a 3.0

those guages arent even that accurate any way, your tach is probably off and your speedo too; nothing to worry about

Hmm...It has never done it before. I think my tach is correct i know my speedo is off 2-3mph, it was just weird it was just wiggling, i have never seen that before, could it be something with the cold? i might run over to the shop tomrrow and ask a different machanic, the place i usally go is full of idiots.
