the u joints attach the drive shaft to the rear axle. the carrier bearing (if an extended cab) should be on a cross member between the two frame rails, and will look like a bearing that the drive shaft goes through.

Ok so i went out there and crawled around and shook some stuff haha.
I decided things were not looking quite like you described though i think i figured out what the u joint is.

Then i took a picture from the front of toward the back. there doesn't seem to be anything that comes near the drive shaft.

here is a picture up at the front of a little rubber thing. Not sure what this is.

and just for good measure a picture from the back looking forward.

So am i looking at the right things under there?

The first picture is definitely your u-joints. Turn the drive shaft left and right and take a peak at those while you do and see how much "play" is in them. Can also check to see if they have a grease zirc while you are down there. That third picture almost looks like you got a brand new bushing on it as it doesn't look bad from the picture...

Doesn't appear that you have a carrier bearing...I assumed all Rangers had them though, so I am not surprised that I am wrong, lol.

And maybe it's just me and my piece of shit eyes, but it almost looks like your drive shaft is sitting to the south west of your tail shaft on the back of the transmission a little more then it should...

Ok so i tried turning it left and right and it seemed that there was zero play within the joint itself. The whole thing shifted back and forth a bit but i saw no wobble in the joint.

That rubber piece does appear to be brand new and I have no idea how it got on there.
My dad has had the truck for the last 4 years or so but the only thing he has done with it is replace the brakes and fix the fan switch.

I'll have to check the drive shaft angle again. I'm not sure if the picture just makes it look weird or if it actually is.

Hey mine does the exact same thing.
Starts shaking about 65 MPH and stops around 75mph.
Seems to be affected by acceleration.

We thought it was the tires so went and had them balanced and rotated.
It does not seemed to have helped much.
Improperly worn tires or worn tires could cause a vibration.

did you remember to rotate the air in your tires the last time you had your oil changed? unrotated air can cause this problem.
What is unrotated air?

Make sure your tires are properly aired up. Have you had an alignment recently? It is hard to duplicated w/o more specific info.

the tires are pretty much brand new. I think they have a little over 3k miles on them. Just brought them in to be balanced and rotated at the store they were purchased from. Tire pressure is correct as well.

mine shook at 110km/h which is the same speed. i had a small tear in the C.V. joint boot and the tire was bad. they leaned towards the bad tire because the shake was still there when they replaced the CV but stopped when they changed the tire

----------

the tire they replaced was fairly new too.they just put it on to replace my old tire that had a spike in it.i bought the extended tire warranty at fords to cover the damage and the replacement tire for the replacement tire. bring it back and say test it.make sure u rule out others probs first

----------

lookin at the pics, the rubber boot looks outta place and new to be meant for that.did u put that on or a previous owner?

Check your tie rod ends.. Jack your truck up (front)try shaking your tire from side to side... If it moves alot than yes.... another way is to grab it and attempt to move it.... If you can move it by hand there bad..
