Red face 1987 Ford Ranger Questions

Hi,

My 1987 Ford Ranger has an oil smell when driving. I see there's a small leak of oil around the oil pan gasket and oil plug.

Also, my parking brake light stays on when I disengage the parking brake. My brake fluid is up to correct level. Brakes work fine too.

Do you think if I replaced the gasket, that will correct the oil smell when I drive the truck? I'm in Alameda, CA near Oakland/Berkeley and wonder what's the average price a mecahnic may charge to replace the gasket?

Any suggestions on getting the brake lights to turn off/

THX,

Ed
