Default Power window problem

Ok so i just bought a new ranger, 2000 xlt 4.0, and the driver's side window seems like its struggling to move. I have to play with the switch to get it to move, and it moves really slow and starts struggling to move. The door worked perfectly fine yesterday but now it doesn't.

Ive heard you can lube the window with spray silicon lube
The motor is going bad
the regulator is going bad

Any ideas?
Ps ill post some pics of my new truck when i can get a working camera.

its pretty cheap to replace the window regulator complete with a new motor. i would do that but it is most likly the motor going bad due to lack of lubrication.

Do it yourself, I think the hardest part when I did one on my dad's truck was popping the rivets out that hold the stock motor in there.

ok should i do just the motor or both the regulator and the motor? the window will not move, occationaly it will move but very very slowly and then i have a hell of a time getting it up.

I think I did it all in my dad's and I did both sides cause he is anal about things that are pairs and if one goes then the other will go, so I replaced the regulator and motor to be safe for him plus he had the money to spend. I can't tell you what your issue is, but if you replace both you should be good, but before you do that. Have you check the switches and made sure they have good connections and what not and the wires all good?

i have no way of testing them and its such a cramped space i can't really get at the wires to check them, i push the button, i hear a clicking sound from under the dash bored, and nothing from the door its self, then after holding it for a few seconds the window ill move a bit but very slow, almost need to take it to the machanic and see what they say.

Just see what they say, then if its priced too much or even if its not tell them that anyways and do it yourself. My dad takes his car to the mechanic and pays to find out what's wrong if we can't figure it out and then we fix it ourselves.

Pull the door panel (it's easy, look around here, or google it), an then try the window with the switch hooked up, but not in the door panel. Then you'll see whats happening. Could be a simple thing like the inner door plastic hole cover being in the riser track.

Before you replace the motor, I would give it a good whack with hammer. I've seen this fix a few Ford window motors before.
