'02 3.0 has power but doesn't turn over
I drove home from work around 11pm last night and everything was fine. Just as I was getting home it started raining a little bit. A then a little bit turned into A LOT. During the massive rain that lasted for about 3 hours there were a couple lightning strikes on our property. One hitting a tree about 60 feet away and another one hit the house we think because it was about 20 times louder and he well felt like we just got kicked in the chest while having our picture taken with a cannon (also our modem and security system got fried T_T).
So after the harrowing storm I wasn't going to bed anytime soon so I decided to go out on a drive. Here are the strange symptoms I am now faced with.
-When pressing the door unlock button on my key fob, the doors unlock and immediately lock again.
-The door lock buttons in the truck actually keep the doors unlocked for longer until i'm guessing something interferes with it again and locks and unlocks like there's a ghost.
-When I insert and turn the key everything seems to come on fine except for the engine. The dome light is bright as ever. The headlights are fine. Blinkers are fine. The battery seems to have a good amount of power. Everything electrically is fine except for the door locks having a mind of their own. But there is no sound of the engine trying to start at all. No turn over, not even clicking.
-The one sound I do hear other than the door chime is the fuel pump sounds like it's buzzing away. I take that as a sound that normally would happen anyway but normally I would be inside my closed truck with the engine going and not leaning out of the driver's side door with my ear to the gas tank listening for any semblance of a symptom.
As far as my practical knowledge. I know very little about vehicle maitenance and the goings-on under the hood but I am also a broke person who can't afford to take it to the shop and have them run a $150 check to tell me that I need a $200 part that will cost $500 to install if I could just buy that part online and install it myself under the guidance of Google.
