on a truck, you do NOT jack it by the body, you place the jack under the frame. unibody cars are different, the jack gets placed on the seam that runs along under the doors. you done messed up

what he said kinda...a unibody car gets jacked up on the pinch weld with the spare tire jack...but if you use a floor jack/lift youre supposed to go on the torque boxes(just inside the pinchwelds) but you can get away with doing the pinchwelds

The hook things pointing outward from the front of the frame would be the jacking points I used along with the factory jack.

My 03 Ranger also has the front fenders protruding outward. More toward the bottom and slightly worse on the drivers side. It was like that when I bought it (used) though. If you was jacking it from the "A Frame" I wouldn't think that would cause the damage. If we are speaking of the A-Frame coming off the front axle....

I agree with you, how can jacking cause that damage to both sides , especially if you jacked it like it shows in the manual. I am new to this forum, this is the first post I've read because I have the same problem. However the comments you recieved are way off track and unwarrented. You stated early where you jacked it, so why all the negativity about using the body as jacking points, saying you messed up, ect. I would think a group of Ford owners would be more knowlegeable and civil and helpful. Come on people, help with your ideas of what happened, don't trash the guy. He was asking for help. My momma used to say "if you ain't got something nice to say, don't say nothing", lol

Thanks rbtpartsman. I got the same negativity at the dealer yesterday. And for that reason I have also filed a complaint with Transport Canada.

Well if you used the proper jack point no reason for it to truly flex much. If it isn't major then it should return to normal with daily use. If it's the fenders or flares then just bend them back. I have worked on plenty of chevys and the workmanship is not really any different. Be careful when you raise thousands of pounds of metal and plastic on a 2 inch diameter point that's a lot of weight! lol

ps i dont bother with the stock jack, i just use a full size floor jack.

rbtpartsman, you have to understand your on a ranger forum, therefore most of the people here love their trucks and bad mouthing the workmanship of the vehicle is not gonan get you a lot of help. Obviously something went wrong, whether the blame is on the OP a PO if there was one, or simply a defect in manufacturing (it happens sometimes). In either case the only thing the OP can do is find the problem or have a shop find the problem and correct it. No sense in pointing fingers here, just find out of it is just cosmetic or structurally unsound. If something on the frame or whatever looks off then have a professional indy shop inspect it for you. Then report back and we will see if we can help you out. If it turns out to be cosmetic then all the better flex those suckers back in!

check the fender mounts, even a truck flexing wont mess with the front fenders unless the wheel touched the fender. Just get under it aand see if something is loose. So i fully understand, is it bubbled? or just sticking out. I have never heard of this problem before

Killjoy, nowhere in my post did I badmouth the workmanship of the vehicle. I love my Ranger. I have been a Ford fanatic since I was 17 yrs old, and wouldn't own anything else. I simply stated that since trustmeicare stated early in his post that he used the proper jacking points, why did people post negative things about him using the body, ect to jack the vehicle ? Obviously he had said he used the points that was "right" and recommended in the owners manual. Please read my post again because nowhere have I badmouthed the "workmanship" as you state. I simply can't understand why people was "negative" towards the guy about where he jacked his vehicle up from, when he had stated he used the correct jacking point. Why say something negative at all, if you don't have an answer to his question ? I posted because my Ranger has the same issue ( was like that when I bought it used, so have no idea how it got that way) and I thought if some good ideas for fixing it come up in the forum I would be "notified". I am NOT badmouthing a Ford, never ever. I am a Ford man forever.

Justincredible, I will try and take a picture of my truck so you can see exactly what mine looks like. I believe mine is just like Trustmeicare's from his description. I will also check my fender mounts. My fender just seems to stick out a little on the bottom, but it is not bubbled. My "line" seems right between the door and fender. My top of the fender is "flush" but gradually comes out as it moves toward the bottom, but the gap or line between the door/fender stays "right" the whole length. And on my truck the drivers side fender is sticking out slightly more than the passengers side, but both do stick out more than normal. I believe that my problem and Trustmeicare's problem seem like the same, and I appreciate any suggestions.

Yea easy fix, step 1 take out the K&N CAI,
step 2 use a BFH to beat on the fender till it is where you want it to be.
