Never had a sending unit problem on any vehicle. Our trucks get filled up when the fuel light comes on, or in the ranger case, the check gauge. I suppose that the only way to find out this info is to pull the fuel pump...? if your doing that, who gives a fukc! lol

As for folks that put $20 here $20 there, you still have to get to work all week, why not just fill it up? Thats how we roll. Gas is #1 priority!

might I add, 263k miles. Factory fuel pump

and, 201k miles, factory fuel pump

I don't let my tank below 1/4 tank most days. But I've been there scrapping by. So, sad fact...running it down till the light comes on...while may work for you, and may last you for YEARS and hundreds of thousands of miles...has been proven to shorten the life of a sending unit. I won't put my truck through that. But I also travel...a LOT!!! and I can not afford it to fail me that harshly on the side of the road somewhere. Especially when I was living in Montana, and the winters are so harsh. That's my 2 cents...

Don't think anyone has proven that anywhere ever. There is no factual basis for that statement and it's completely illogical.
