Default New Shocks but Bumping and "Bottoming Out" noise on bumpy roads

I just put in new shocks in my 07 4x4 and I thought it would solve the problem of this chattering noise when I hit bumpy roads. The truck rides great with the new ranchos but the thudding is disoncerning. What am I looking at here ball joints, tie rods, bearings? How can I check these individual components and how much are replacements going to cost?
