Default Re: What do you make of this A/C issue?

Actually I just noticed that the black plastic regulator valve on the heater core hoses coming from the firewall have been removed and the hoses jumped together with couplers, this makes me believe that the heater core is causing this issue for me where I have to be in high air circulation to get it colder since when the truck has not been driven I am not having as much an issue with the A/C temp. That valve should bypass the core when the A/C is on if I recall.

What is this part's technical name?

Check the vacuum accumulator on the passenger side fender well, make sure all the vacuum lines are in one piece. A broken vacuum line will alter the defrost gate during acceleration and hill climb.
You can repair the broken line by using windshield washer tubing as a splice connection. Don't be surprised if you have more responsive throttle also. Good Luck

In regards to the OP try running it in park and pouring some water over the condenser (the a/c radiator) then quickly check if it blows colder. If it does you have a lack of cooling which could be a few different things but it will at least narrow it down. What is your high side pressure in park?

I have similiar issues with my A/C compressor not cycling on and off.....if this is your problem as well, the condensor could be freezing and the ECU is not cycling the compressor on and off.
