ok so i dont have the tools or the patience to custom fit exploder seats into my ranger so i heard that gen 3 ranger seats will bolt directly into my reg cab. i just hate that damn 60/40 split bench. so what years were gen 3 rangers made

You can put Explorer buckets in your Ranger, just have to transfer your seat tracks over to the Explorers, just 4 bolts per seat.

so let me get this straight. i can take my seat tracks from my 2003 ford ranger xl regular cab seats and bolt them onto the explorer seats and they will bolt directly into the floor of my 03 regular cab xl ford ranger. would there be a certain year of explorer seats that i have to put into my ranger or no

You may have to tap the front two bolt holes. But other than that yes should be a direct swap fit and bolt.

what do i use to tap the two front holes and what is tapping. also, RATRANGER, are your seats manual adjust or power adjust. also how do you like the seats. are they comfortable, how close are you to the steering wheel and would an exploder center console fit

yes, direct bolt up replacement for 97 and older, but not for 98+. 98+ seat tracks are integrated into the recline mechanism.


using the gen 3 tracks, the front two holes should lineup pretty well, it'll be one of the rear ones that are off. see Explorer Leather seats


NO! I told you this in the other thread you made about it. You CANNOT remove your tracks and bolt them to the other seat. Did you not read the thread I posted on your other one? It's the same one posted right above. Go read it. It has multiple links of how to do this, and other issues people have ran into using gen 3 tracks.

As far as what year ex seats, 95-01 is the preferred.
