Negative camber issue
Ok ever since I bought the truck it has a pretty ugly and noticeable negative camber issue. I did upper and lower ball joints, wheel bearings/hubs, shocks, tie rods which I know don't make a difference anyway but I pretty much rebuilt the front end and the truck has had multiple 4 wheel alignments and tracks straight forever. I cranked the tbars up and that with all the new parts helped some but still has that damn negative camber. I just want it to sit straight, maybe bent control arms? Idk I'm lost, I've done everything but the control arms. It's a 03 4x4

Re: Negative camber issue
Did you have it realigned after tweaking the torsion bars? And if yes and if it still squats, what is the treadwear looking like? And finally, how are the rubber bushings, throughout the front suspension?

Yes I did I have it realigned after cranking the bars, the inside of the front tires are wearing. Not terribly, you wouldn't notice unless you really looked at the tire but they still are. The bushings are all good, like I said I've replaced everything in the front end besides control arms

Re: Negative camber issue
Have you altered the wheel offset from factory? In fact, is there anything other than the tire size and the torsion bar twist that is not factory?

I have American racing rims, the offset is the same as the stock rims though

Re: Negative camber issue
So far everything sounds so right, honestly, I would go back and scrutinize the integrity of the suspension parts I noted in my first post, and this assumes the FEA's were done right, and which I would surely, as a consumer, like to think a guy could deliver.
I once had a Chebbie Monza with a V8; that car would like up on the rack just fine but because it was heavy in front and combined with GM engineering, if you were to back that car up and make a steering maneuver, then straightened the steering wheel, it would squat. Never wore tires funny because of it, but you just knew it wasn't quite right. I"m scratching my head over your Ranger and what could be off base, because Rangers seem to normally be no frills and straight forward to allign. Unless someone did something non OEM.

Truck came from an auction so god knows what it's been through before I bought it, I know it's never been in an accident but who knows what else could have happened to it. Well at least it's never been in one that's harmed the frame or body in anyway. Could have hit a curb or something and fucked the front end up

Re: Negative camber issue
I assume the alignment shop installed new camber bolts? From what I gather, there is very limited adjustment available (if any) from the factory. I know when I had mine aligned a few weeks ago, I had to have new camber bolts with more adjustment put on.

The first time I had it aligned I had it done by someone else when I had my new tires and rims installed, but the last 2 times I did it myself. My dad is an automotive instructor so I have access to the school shop and can do what I please in there. I know I didn't do new camber bolts and I have no clue if the place that did it before me did or not

Ok, what did the camber specs look like when it was on the rack? You see, when they roll of the line new they have offset shims on the UCA to frame connection that are good for that point in time and with no disturbances, and any future alteration/incident/event, like plowing into a curb (<< -- always good chance) OR tweaking torsion bars, alters the camber (+ caster?) setting, of which you will need the cam kit in order to adjust and properly align the front end.
