Default Mazda B-Series/Ford Ranger Parts Compatibility

I did a search for a thread like this but didn't see one, my apologies if I missed it.

I thought it might be useful to have a thread where Mazda B-Series owners can post their experiences with Ranger parts that either fit or don't fit, for ease of reference. For example;

I just replaced the rear leaf spring hangers and shackles on my 2000 B3000 SE 4x4, the Ranger parts fit perfectly.
Also the serpentine belt for the 3.0 V6 is a perfect match.
From what I've read so far, the front torsion bar suspension is the same as the Ranger Edge model. Can anyone confirm this?
Oh, and I just found a Leer topper from an '89 Ranger that fits the B3000 bed really well. It measures 74"L x 60" wide, the cargo light relief is a little narrow but still clears fine.
What Ranger parts have you bolted on your B-Series (or vice-versa)? Please post it here!

Well I have not done anything like that but I did see this 2008 ford ranger a couple weeks ago that had a mazda B-series bed on it. It was a unique looking truck. At first I thought it was a Mazda but it made a U-turn and BAM it was defanantly a Ford Ranger in the front.

That was most likely a Ranger STX.

As for B-Series and Ranger parts interchanging, the only replies you'll get in here are about parts that do fit. I don't think there's any special parts that won't swap except for headlights for headlights, and tail lights for tail lights.

Emblems swap easily, as do the airbags. The front clips will interchange too if you keep them complete.

The tailight lenses off a ranger usually doesn't fit the B-series. It depends on which model you have concerning the headlights. Some fit and some don't. That's really about the only things that I know of that don't fit, depending on which model of Ranger/B-series you have. Oh, the torsion bar front end of the Ranger Edge is an exact match. They used a set of bushings that came from a Mazda dealer while repairing the front suspension of my ranger a few months ago. The Ford dealer didn't have them and they swore up and down they wouldn't fit. The place that worked on my truck proved them wrong too. This Ford dealer seems to be dillusional as of late.

That would be only other thing that I know wouldn't fit, the grill emblem. But I'd say a ranger grill would probably fit though that has the ford emblem.

The Ranger and B Series are close siblings in everything except for Front clip parts and tail lights for the most part. It's scary how little changes they made for these trucks from different auto makers.

Yep. It's not a bolt on, but the 06+ Ranger emblems aren't bolt on either, yet they still find their way onto 1983-2005 Rangers. Double sided professional grade tape can be your best friend in this case.

I only said that as a joke btw, I guess it went over your head.

To clear it up, Mazda Dual Sport is the equivalent to the Ranger Edge. Dual Sports have the torsion bars, regular Mazda B-Series without the Dual Sport package have coils. And like the Ranger, 4x4 Mazdas without the Dual Sport package have torsion bars as well, just like the Ranger 4x4.

The same goes for TTB on a 1994-1997 B-series. 4x4 Mazdas have TTB, 4x2 Mazdas do not, just like the Ranger.

AFAIK this one is just an SE 4x4 not the DualSport. Guess that would be the equivalent to the Ranger XL 4x4? It doesn't have power windows, pwr seats, or pwr locks, but does have the factory single-disc CD player.

I like the body styling on the B3000 with the slight fender flares and slimmer grill. Not knocking the Ranger at all now, it's just sorta unique. Good to know that it's all Ford Ranger under the bodywork.
