Default 60k Service

Hey everyone. My truck is approaching 60k miles and I was originally planning on taking it to the local Ford dealership and having them do the service.

Here lately though, Ive been considering doing it myself. I dont have my truck manual in front of me, but what all needs to be done to service my truck? I know the list at 60k included quite a bit more than an oil change.

I need to spend more time wrenching on civilian vehicles anyways. So can anyone lend me a hand and some info here?

I would consider:
-oil change, oil filter,
-Tranny fluid change
-diff fluid change
-spark plus (perhaps spark plug wires as well)
-inspect the engine coils ( what engine do you have?)
-Timing belt inspection and potential change.

I think thats all, This may appear extreme lol but atleast your truck will run like new

Im not worried about "extreme". lol. I have a 4.0 SOHC V6 in my truck. Its a gas guzzler!

That stuff looks easy, if a bit time consuming. Well everything except inspecting/changing the timing belt. Tomorrow Im gonna break out the little Service booklet that came with my truck from Ford so I will have plenty of questions after that Im sure.

would inspecting the tensioner be recommed or not necessary at this mileage?

No, no need to check the tensioner, the timing components are made to last the life of the motor.

I clean my air filter pretty regularly. Or try to at least. Its washable. Definitely a tire rotation though.

yeah chains are a hell of a lot more tough then belts.

every vehicle ive owned has had a chain, and ive had no issues.

when you get up there in miles, they do stretch a lil, but nothing to worry about.

A new serpentine belt
Remove and clean the coolant overflow tank
If your spare is 5 years old drop it and inspect it. Sometimes they will get rubbed and ruined
Replace all U-Joints
Front end alignment
New shocks?
