I did the high flow cat, stock air box with a k&n and did a forced air induction on it, no tbs, and i have put a more aggressive cam in it as well as messed with the timing. i know about the valves being bent because of deceleration, hense why i have a muffler on my truck. I do not have MSD either.

Since every 1 wants to b funny n not helpful @ all, I use E-3 plugs, Royal Purple Fluid n a K&N air Filter, mine is a 4.0 I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes between the outcome u will get, but mine moves when i punch it

I did CAI,JBA shorty headers,Magnaflow single exit exhaust, and super chip cortex with custom tune. Truck will blow the doors of stock ranger by about 2 to 3 lengths all day long explain that one and my 2010 4.0L is a manual against my buddy's 2011 4.0L auto!! Both are FX4 with 4.10 rear he has stock tires i have 33"procomp mud terrains so that alone is a big advantage for him. He is now online ordering the same upgrades. I'll be the first to say the mods don't add the ponies "they" claim but they do add some example CAI claims 13.5hp gain I'd say maybe 2hp headers claim 16hp ok ok maybe 3hp and so on.
Cheers

Mad mike, those sound like some fun upgrades, but it says inexpensive, not sure if original poster has changed his goals or not but those mods def don't sound cheap

Tips def will not add H.P. I have a nice lil Chrome tip off a Camaro S.S. N though it looks like the truck has an extra "20 H.P." It don't, heck it doesn't even make it sound different, but chips do, idk what the best or most popular is but I personally am prob going w/ Jet Performance n I think it's fairly cheap, I think G-Force makes 1, but they make 1 for every car, something don't seem right about that

People need to know HP AIN'T CHEAP!! I'd say your looking at 100$+ for one HP just my thought but do every thing properly and you will be very surprised with the outcome I spent about $2000 on my bolt on mods as posted above and I'm loving the outcome. Stay away from cheap resistors "chips/sensors" that claim massive HP you'll be disappointed cause all they do is mess stuff up they trick your ecu into thinking its running lean or the air is colder than it is. Sorry for ranting and hope it helped just be patient and remember for every action "mod" their is a reaction so when you change one thing be prepared to change multiple things to make every thing flow slicker than loon shit lol cheers

There is a cheap way cost 0 bucks. You need to go get some wiper/blinker fluid put that on everything thats about 200hp atleast then get some coiled over leaf springs with wax soothing ointment and make sure you take your brake and rotors off. With all this youll go so fast youll never be able to stop

You are askng for the impossible and a nonexistant animal. The is no such thing as cheap or inexpensive horsepower no matter what vehicle you have. Period.

If anyone just blindly posts in a thread with 72 replies without reading it first, they deserve the responses they get. It has been stated time and time again in here and several times elsewhere that there is no such thing as cheap horsepower.

well maybe a helpful suggestion at least, i'm sure all of us wanna get as much out of these things as possible i know i do, i got the 4.0 n even though it'll move, i know it could b better, should b better, i've seen smaller motors do more, maybe a set of wires you've used that perform better than others or fuel for instance my truck responds much better when it's got Shell in it n even better still when it's 93 though i can't always afford 93, it's the just straight up ignorant suggestions that r bugging me, when i reply to a post i try to help otherwise i keep my mouth shut, we're here to help each other r we not? if not i see no point in continuing to bother w/ forums, especially not if i could get a @ least funnier reply out of the local comedian

I dont understand how adding stickers increases HP, stickers add weight, and weight brings down performance.......
