Default "Your Door is Ajar" ...No it's not!

I'm having a problem with my passenger side door. The "Door Ajar" light keeps coming on. It doesn't go out unless I put my weight into it. That fixes it until I close the driver's door or until I hit a bump. I tried spraying WD-40 into all the latches, but it didn't help. I have a 2000 ext cab four door. Has anyone else had this problem and maybe a solution?

I had that problem too, I sprayed Wd-40 into the latches and slammed the door shut and that surprisingly fixed the constant door ajar light. However, the chime still comes on randomly, but no light. IDEK. I just dont hear it anymore, Id like to figure out how to fix it, but I havent looked into it. Hope someone else chimes in.

Try adjusting the door latches on the rear doors being that the lube didnt work. It sounds like they need to be moved back to hold the door in tighter

I actually just noticed they are adjustable. I moved it as far back as possible, it didn't help. I did notice that when I push on the bottom of the rear door, the light goes out. It must be the latch there.

adjust the front doors as well and check the hinges for any loose pins and/or play in it as well

Adjusting the latch seems to help a bit, it is easier to get the light to go out now. But it seems that the main problem is a broken rear door latch. The bottom door latch doesn't actually latch when the door closes so it bounces around causing the light to come on. It's pretty rusty so it looks like it's going to be a pain to replace.

That could work. I've grown bored with it today. Next time I feel ambitious, I'm going to see if I can tear out that latch. If it's too rusted I may just take it into a shop.

Should just be torx bolts, then I believe getting it out from the inside of the door. On my next days off I'll take a look and try to pull it and give ya the scoop on how to do it

UPDATE:
The problem with the latch is it's not making enough contact on the striker. The bolts holding the striker are far too rusted to adjust. I wrapped the striker with some electrical tape, it seems to have helped significantly, but it's not quite fixed.
