Exclamation Chip Boost

Does the chip boost from GFChips really work? Is it worth trying? Has anyone done this?

I was wondering the same thing, particularly since its on sale for $6xish dollars. Last chip I installed was in my old VW GTI and it basicly drained power, and as soon as I applied the clutch in gears 1-5 it would instantly die. I had to drive 5km down the road in reverse to my mechanics house to figure it out.... that was neat.

No. That product is a scam. And it isn't a chip. It isn't anything. It is a resister you put on the temperature sensor that makes th engine provide improper fuel and spark.

Thank you for that information. Glad I asked before I bought it. But please explain what a "tuner" is and what it does? Also where do you get them?

Its device that has custom programming information pre-loaded on it for your truck's computer. Usually they can store up to three custom re-tunes on it. It plugs into the OBD2 port under the steering wheel. Push some buttons and, as if by wizardry, it reprograms your truck's computer in a matter of seconds.
