No change when I adjust temp. It blows strong as ever but cold is not cold and heat never gets warm. All speeds work as before but if i change temp it will stay the same.

yep sounds like a blend door or accuator issue possibly. take your glove box down by pressing in the two tabs on the sides when it's open, and then look up inside and find a white box. that's your accuator. on the right side of it there's an arm that turns and opens the blend door. the arm goes out the bottom of it and you cant see it, but you should be able to feel the top of it (there's kind of a square hole in it). while touching that, turn the knob and see if you can feel the arm rotate. if it doesn't, you may have a bad accuator.

the video on this thread might help to show you what youre looking for:

Thank you both very much, I will look at this tomorrow and see if I can find it. Did you say there was a video thread? I didn't see one.

Yes, the heater will turn off. I removed the glove compartment door and I didnt see it as described, but I did see to the right a silver, round object with a wire on the bottom and a flat metal shaft that looks as if it moves. Is this the same thing?

I have a 98 4x4 4.0 ext cab. and have no idea what is going on with my A/C. I have recharged twice and not the problem. while sitting still, my ac works great! but as I accelerate and get up to 45 mph, my ac cuts out. It just stops blowing, I have no idea what the deal is, does anybody have any ideas, or any help?

You have a vacuum leak. I bet if you feel up on the dash, you'll find the air is all blowing out the defroster vents?

Its very easy. You just have to find it. It is probably a pretty big leak, like a hose disconnected or something. I can't tell you where it is though.
