Cold air question?
The other day I drove my '07 Ranger without the A/C ever being on. I noticed cold air (like as if the A/C was on - the outside air was in the upper 70s) blowing through on Vent, Vent/Floor and even just Floor. I didn't bother to adjust the temp however (it was all the way on the cool side). Is the A/C compressor not shutting off or are these trucks always cold?

Re: Cold air question?
If I recall correctly the ac compressor never shuts of regardless of what you have the knob turned to.

Re: Cold air question?
Yep it is running in panel/floor. Panel only, floor only, and off are the only settings the AC does not run in.

Soooo…which is it?
Should I have my local dealership (where I bought the truck) look at it?

Re: Cold air question?
... And that is the way it has been for over 10 years on pretty much all Fords. Way way back in the day, it would only run in AC and Defrost. But now it is all settings except OFF, FLOOR ONLY and PANEL ONLY.

Re: Cold air question?
Hmm…I guess it's on only Panel/Floor - I double checked today while I drove it for ten minutes. Sure enough the air was warm on Panel and Floor, but started getting cold on Panel/Floor. I might've left it on P/F when I drove it Monday.
So if I turn the temp knob more towards a warmer temp, will that shut off the A/C compressor?

Period. You can set the temperature knob for anything you want. However, be advised that in MAX AC, the hot water valve to the heater core closes and you can not add heat to the air.
