Default AC question 1989 Ranger

Have an ORing leak in the Ranger, been puttin sealer and recharging each season. Ready to try and fix as best I can. Buying complete ORing kit, to relace the Orings that show leaked Dye.
Have a Seal and Charge kit, Freeze 12 replaces the freon, been using a number of years.
Bought a Vacuum pump, the cheap one Air driven, its not perfect, but not spending 100 plus for a pump, nor do I have the gauges. Here is the question;
After I replace Orings, do I attach vacuum to Low Pressure side, vacuum, detach vacuum, then install the Oil, Sealer and Refrigerant?
Any suggestions welcome.
