Default E-Brake Help Please

2000 Ranger 4x4 xlt 5spd, foot pedal for E-Brake will not press down. Anybody ever encounter this other than myself? I want to put my new E-Brake cable in but cant seem to figure out what has my pedal siezed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried pulling the release, holding it, and stepping on it? maybe it's sprung or something. Just speculating.

I had this problem and the exact opposite of it. Some days my pedal would go all the way down without any pressure and some days it never went down. Turns out the springs for the brakes had come off. They are factory brakes back there so I have no idea how it happened. Take off the drums and take a look at your brakes to see if anything looks out of place.

Agreed, nothing like trying to track down a problem and getting a cliff hanger.

Still havnt figured it out the problem isnt what you stated. I dont have my cable on the truck right now so its not the brakes that actually seized the pedal. Still trying to figure out what is actually causing it as of now its remains a mystery. It has to be something with the pedal directly because at this point it isnt connected to anything hence it should be loose not stuck.

Oh, I didn't realize it wasn't connected. Sorry about that. So it has something to do with the actually pedal mechanism itself? I would just take it apart and see if you can find anything.

Ok. My cable running to the foot lever was lodged in the frame haha. Thats why it wouldnt press down. Pulled it out and im good to go.
