My ranger did not come with keyless entry nor do I see an aftermarket alarm system. Manual windows and locks.

Here's what I need to know....when the key (has a chip) is removed from the ignition, the dash beeps and a red "THEFT" light flashes.

Does this mean I have an anti-theft alarm system?
If so, then what would be the best solutuion to getting a keyless remote to deactivate the alarm, if this vehicle is so equiped?
Can I go aftermarket or only Dealer supplied?
The alarm has never gone off.

The theft light that is blinking is part of fords PATS , or passive anti theft system, this will turn off the the computer basicly .

OK...so no need to worry about an Alarm going off in the middle of the night.
That makes sense...Passive Anti Theft disabiling of the ECM.
