Default Add an extra gas tank or replace?

hey guys, so heres the deal. I need more miles per full tank of gas. I want about 300-400 miles per tank and im only gettin around 180-230 and filling up every 2 or 3 days.
Has anyone put another gas tank on their truck? If so, where? Pics?
Or can i replace it with a larger tank?
Any ideas?

Idk if they make one of these that will fit in a ranger but people put them in diesel trucks all the time.

I hate to break it to you but you are the thing that needs to change. I have a 97 with the 4.0, and if I am being nice I have gotten 23 out of mine. You gotta drive the truck like the proverbial "old man" slow starts, slow acceleration, don't punch it, brake responsibly etc. The other thing is that you probably need a tune up. I can get 300 out of most any tank in my truck. Except pulling a trailer.

well the reason i am getting such low miles per tank is because i never like to let my gas go down below a quarter tank which ive heard is bad for the engine.
plus, i get about 17 miles per gallon, but my guage shows less than a quarter tank of gas left at 185 miles. so i figure a increase is fuel capacity would solve that.

Here's a 33gal Ranger replacement tank

Actually forget that looks like it's for the world ranger not the north american... wish it would work I'd like a larger tank as well just to not stop for gas as often.

I get about 18 most days, and my truck will get more then 230 before the 1/4 tank mark. By the way, you are correct in filling up at a 1/4 tank. Your fuel doesn't just feed your engine, it also cools your pump. That's why you shouldn't run it down to the gas light all the time. Jack up your tire pressure to the maximum manufacturer's recommended PSI, then drive slower and smart, less stop and go. Also keep up on maintenance.
