Default No dark exhaust pipe?

I see on most cars(or Trucks the inside of the exhust pipe is black. My tailpipe is not black at all. its about the same color(metalwise) as the outside of the pipe. Do you guys have any ideas what could cause this. My truck runs fine, no problems. I got my truck smoged in Feb and it passed with flying colors. In fact, it said that my truck was releasing less stuff(chemicals into the air[O2, CO2, CO, etc]).

to my knowledge, its just carbon in the exhaust that is collecting in the pipes. Its in my tailpipe and has been in almost all of my tailpipes on every car i've owned, and as far as i konw its not a problem it just happens
