LOL Thanks! So would that cause it to make the "catching" or the noise if I'm running on pavement and I punch the gas sometimes or do I need to look for another cause now?

yes there is the 7.5 and the 8.8 thay are the same length i just put the 8.8 in mine... i would say the grinding when you turn COULD be your clutches in your tracloc but not sure mine did that so i rebuilt it with more clutches and now when i turn on dirt it drags a tire

So is this something that you feel more than hear? Like a shudder?

No, I hear the noise a fraction of a sec before I feel it. Not really sure how to describe the feel, but I guess it's sort of a shudder. I think it feels more like something catches and then releases. It appears to be happening when it shifts from first to second gear if I speed up too fast. Doesn't matter if I'm turning or not. If I punch the gas and speed up too fast that's when it happens. Normal acceleration is fine and it shifts perfectly.

Thats why everyone is saying check your motor mounts. But your acceleration would be gone at all speeds and at all times if that were the case. As well as being a place for the engine to sit, the mounts hold the engine block from tending to roll with the direction of the crank assembly. A broken mount will allow an engine block to rotate a few degrees and absorb power.

Me I think you got an engine light coming: shift solenoid problem.
Wouldn't hurt to checkout your u-joints though. I'm sure more ideas will be posted.
