Default Im getting 12.5 mpg?

lately it's seemed like I'm getting gas more and more often, so i checked my mileage- I'm getting 12.5 mpg right now. This seems completely abnormal, especially when combined with the fact that my daily commute is almost entirely highway? My truck is stock and has 40,000 miles on it, any suggestions?

I get 18 running freeway all winter. I have the older 4.0. You need a tune up, hands down. This isn't a case of just what it is. Unless you're lifted or some junk.

Deff need a tune-up or new air filter and maybe use sea foam in the vaccum lines. I have a 2004 4.0 4wd and i get 15 city and 18 Hwy!!! 12.5 does not sound normal especially highway. Good Luck!

Sounds pretty normal for the upper midwest. Are you running straight unleaded or are you running any ethanol blended fuel thru it?

12-13mpg is not normal for normal highway driving in any season. The kind of mileage means something is wrong. As stated, check the obvious and simple stuff first like filters.

cold weather i dont think would affect gas mileage by 5 or more miles. Your truck is deff not running at optimum effiency. Try the simple soulutions as stated and that should deff make a difference!
