97 ranger 2.3 4-cyl quick question

I ahve been trolling the boards to check and see if anyone has had the same particular problems has me and I have found some that have / having the same problems. My truck made it about a 1/4 mile and when i was accelerating into 2nd gear after a stop sign it just died on me. I ahve replaced fuel pump, filter, relay, and ignition coils. With none of that working, I think I am about to replace the Ignition module. Does anyone know if the ignition module could have caused it to die like that? I know if it was the computer(ecm?) it could die like that. just curious. The ignition module and computer(ecm?) are not the same thing on this ranger and are close to the same price so i would really like to only change 1 if possible! Any help would be awesome guys!!

check to see if you have spark while cranking.if you do its not the module

When you changed the pump did you change entire assembly or just pump itself?

Take it to the dealer, or a well known shop, so you dont keep buying parts you dont need, and get it done right.
