Re: Bad gasmileage
What year is this truck and how many miles? IAC shouldn't be doing much of anything when not at idle. Start with the basics (and cheap) and then get more complicated.
- Replace or clean air filter (done)
- Clean MAF (procedure in the How-To section) [free!]
- Clean the throttle body (procedure in the How-To section) [free!]
- Clean the IAC while you're at it (Why not, its there) [free!]
- Replace fuel filter [cheap]
- Make sure fan clutch isn't seized (can you spin it by hand with the engine cold and off)
- Replace spark plugs with Motorcraft of Autolite brand only!!!
Seafoam treatments may or may not help. If you choose to do that, do it before changing the spark plugs and you will need to do an oil change within 100 miles. Search for seafoam on here for lots of info:
- 1/3 can through the brake booster
- 1/3 can in the gas tank
- 1/3 can in the oil

is there the tire pressure supposed to be set at the high thirties? Just wondering since all of my passenger cars I set them at 32, is it different for trucks?

It depends on the tires. The tires on my truck say 32, but the tires I had before these ones said 35.

Re: Bad gasmileage
I run 40 psi front and rear, i found that is the best for bumps/gas mileage/wear on your tires.

Re: Bad gasmileage
I thought it would be better to have less pressure in the winter since it improves traction...

Re: Bad gasmileage
Nah you'd know it. The belt would squeal and break. I think that might be a coincidence.
