Default problem

my 92 ranger is a 4.0 v6...i just had the freeze plug and valve cover gaskets fixed... now the ranger wont start but it turns over and its backfiring...any ideas on what is wrong?

Was the crank sensor unplugged? Is it getting fuel & spark? Go back over it & see if you left any wires unplugged. Also check to see if the firing order is correct. It sounds like if it is backfiring that the spark & fuel is there. Just not firing in the correct order. Check that first. If this fix goes it then it's time!!!
