Front brake hose backward on caliper? abs kicking in
This may be a simple question. but, i purchased a 1999 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 with 4wheel abs, and have been "repairing" all of the wonderful "repairs" that the previous owner had done, including replacing all of the front ball joints, redoing the brakes, and replacing all 3 of the ABS sensors. my question is focused on the front brakes.
i noticed that the ABS are always kicking in when i am just about at a complete stop, and i sometimes notice that the front left wheel likes to lock up. i have checked out the caliper, and its working fine. the front end is all tight, and its still doing this after replacing the rotors and pads.
yesterday, i noticed something interesting. it appears that the brake hose was installed backwards to the caliper on the left side. the hose comes out and faces towards the driver, rather than towards the drive shaft. this makes it pretty tight when making a right turn. could this be the problem???
