Default Is the fuel pump in my '86 two wheel ranger an in-line pump?

There is a "lurching" when I go uphill in higher gears. Almost like the fuel isn't getting through.
It's like the gas "cuts out" when I press to hard on the pedal.

assuming it is a stick shift ? try using a lower gear and keep the rpms up to at least 1500, that motor was designed for economy, not power!! if it is an automatic ? dont use overdrive on a hill, maybe even try to pull it down to drive 2 while going up hill, a good tune up might not hurt either . good luck. hope this helps. it may be flooding the engine out if you are lugging the motor

I do have one good suggestion Josh, go to a parts store, any like Autozone or discount auto, or what ever, and you will be much better off, to buy the hanes book on your truck, I buy one for every vehicle I've ever owned. It will answer a lot of q's and save you a ton of money, hope this helps you some....
