Hi all. Well we finally got decent tires on the Ranger so we've been driving it back and forth to work this week. However, when we set the cruise control the truck surges pretty bad. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any ideas where to look first? Thanks for your help!

Can you describe the surge? If its on the initial acceleration it may be due to the timing of removing your foot and setting the cruise

It surges constantly on and off all the while the cruise is set, so bad that you can't have it on more than 30 seconds.

So it isnt the regular accelleration surge? Does it make it accellerate of and on all the time?

yes, to the point it almost makes me sick to drive it if we leave the cruise on for very long at all.

Try checking the cruise cable from the throttle, follow it to the cruise module, take the top of the module and the cable is spring wound & spring loaded, see if that is working properly. It may need some wd40 or something
