Default Questions:

I was messing around with the gear shift the other day while I was driving and I tried pulling it out of 3rd gear. Without the clutch being pished in the truck came right out of gear without a problem and there was no grinding. Does this possibly indicate that I need a new clutch for my truck. What are your opinions?

no. a synchronized transmission allows it to be shifted without the clutch.

catch it at a free floating point, and they slide right out of gear... don't recommend you do it under load, (giving gas or trans breaking)

down shifting shouldnt be a problem, upshifts are a little more sketchy, and yes going from pulling out of 3 is considered a down shift even if you are going to 4, but going from the neutral to 4 is an upshift if that makes sense. just use a clutch to up shift, itll work without the clutch but i dont recomend it
