Default *gasp* Manual to Auto Swap?

Thats right, i went there.. I'm tired of shifting gears, i drive my truck way too much to be clutching in and out of traffic all the time. So when this trans/clutch/slave cylinder goes out next (problably wont be too much longer) i'm looking at swapping over to an auto tranny..

aside from the obvious steering column swap, clutch removal and trans swap.. what else do i need to look into doing? i know i'll need to do something with the computer, but what? educate me.

feel free to nag, rant or piss and moan about my ideas as well, but know this... it means my hurst will go up for sale.

the only thing i can think of that you might need to swap is the gauge cluster for the gear indicator. ive heard swapping an auto in is easier than swapping a manual in but i dont know much more beyond that. sounds to me like you have the bases covered. BTW, i love my auto especially with a tuner

i didnt even think about the cluster.lol i've heard the same thing about the manual to auto swap being easier than the other way around.

i was honestly hoping that bob and a few of the other guru's would chime in with the fine details.

my next question was going to be about tuners and how effective they were with an auto as far as shift points and such.

Haha nah my parents wouldn't let me do something that big to the truck. I wish though... it would be so sick.
