Default Heater control problem

The heater controls in my truck haven't been working for awhile now. Lets say about 2 years actually lol. Well I finally got tired of only haveing hot air coming out of the vents and started tearing into the dash. I found that the actuator for the heater door is working when you turn the switch in the dash but it is not turn the door inside the heater box. I can put a 1/8 inch drive socket extention into the box and turn the door with no problems. I tried putting the actuator back inplace and get it to work but had no success. I really dont want to have to rip the whole dash apart to get the heater box completely out of the truck. anyone else have any problems like this and what was your fix?

look to see if yours is controlled by vacuum and if it is they have been known to get plugged or the tubes to get old and crack.

its electric that controls the blend door. The motor works with no problems. For some reason the motor isnt connecting to the door anymore. not sure if theres a bushing or something that wore out and the door dropped down far enough that its not connecting anymore

there was a guy on ebay selling a patch fix for that problem, I think he cut into the box from the glove box to fix it and then closed it back up

yes sounds like to door is broken..

I have heard before that there is a way of fixing just the door with out replacing the whole box as we would at the dealership.

If you do some searching I'm sure you can find a fix

Thanks I found the kit and have it on its way to me. I was going to try and cut a hole in the box and jb weld it back together but this kit looks a hell of a lot better. Thanks again Matt
