99 Ranger 4 wheel drive turn off
I have a 99 Ford Ranger SuperCab switch on the fly 4x2-4x4 high/low. For some reason when I switch into 4x4 high or low it works fine but will after a minute or so turn power off to the front wheels and bring me back to rear wheel drive, which makes me have to switch back to 4x2 and then back to 4x4 to keep it on. Not sure how or why this is happening as the switch and dash indicator light still show 4x4. Any suggestions?

This happened to me yesterday to. i had in 4 low and the truck was still in 2wd and then when i put it back in 2wd it popped into 4 low. im buying locking hubs tomorrow and hope it fix the problems

talked to a neighbor of mine who said its probably just and actuator failure for me...although too late today as I had gotten stuck and it wouldnt go into 4x4 no matter what...got it out thanks to a Wrangler Sahara and a Silverado 2500 with 10 inch lift...cheap part, about 85 bucks on am-autoparts.com.
