I also have a vacuum gauge so I can help you find that leak as to why you don't have vacuum at your HCV.
ahh man I appreciate the offer, weather has faired and gonna mess with it tomorrow.. let you know the verdict, I'm only 40 miles into Ky on I-75. could be in Knox in no time.. I'll come down n hang, need to go to guitar center anyway..

you rock, appreciate the offer to help, the weather finally allowed me to work on it and the verdict was::::
well I replaced new thermostat (dnt think other was bad), flushed the heater core (ddnt see any thing nasty come out), the verdict was the heater control valve was stuck shut.. and I am good to go, maybe in spring I'll replace water pump with a very expensive OEM ford pump and replace heater core due to age..

My, how nice to see all this vitriol. I've always gotten polite, helpful answers on this forum, even when my questions were perhaps a little bit dumb.
