how in the heck do you you get the box out on these?!?! The thing wont budge for nothing!! If i pull anymore on it im afraid its gonna break! Anyone done it or know??? I sure cant see any bolts holding it in...

There are two rubber grommets at the bottom of the box... spray em with wd40 and then shove a screw driver down there while pulling up.

i had a hard time with mine also. i used a flat head screw driver as leverage. force down with the screw driver under the air box then pull up on the air box it's self.

Or you can do it the right way like I posted..... You can see the rubber grommets through the holes on the bottom of the box... you just push those down and the box comes off.

that semi what works. wd40 i did also but it wasn't enough for mine. thats why i brought out the big flat head and used it as leverage or i would of probably broke the think lol i couldn't just push down on the rubber grommets either.. thank makes no sense.. it would of just done nothing but push the box in not out...

yeah thats what i was goin by. I sprayed the holes in the box where the grommets are but i tapped it with a screwdriver and i swear it sounded like plastic there! Im gonna go take another shot if it dont work screw it lol Im running outta patience with it lol i just took out the jump seats in the back.

If it is still the same as mine..there are 2 at the bottom..plus 2 at the side facing the outside..all will pull out. Disconnect the air tube going to the motor 1st...you said nothing about that. You want to have the airbox free of that. Be carefull of the Mass Airflow Sensor..it is on that tube next to the airbox..mounted on a tuned short section bolted to the airbox..unplug it..unbolt that end..the other should be a factory hoseclamp connecting the other end to the air only throttle body. This rubber intake tube will also have one or 2 tubes to be pulled out..as you pull it towards the front of the Ranger to remove. With all that out of the way you will be able to see how the airbox is mounted way better. To pull it out of the grommets to the outside..push down on the right of the airbox with your right hand..left hand pulling the airbox to the right. That freed...pull up on the airbox...a large flat screwdriver can make it easier...placed in the space between the bottom of the airbox and the sheetmetal below it...the rubber mounting gives space between the 2 to do that.

yeah when i did mine i pulled to hard and broke one of the side plastic pins, but it came out, it feels like its gonna break and then pops out finally... the first time i did it (done it 4 times total due to mods) it took me and my neighbor to get it out, and im not calling myself weak.

Mine was tough too.. I end up breaking one of my pegs too.. After trying it for a month, I saw no changes in anything, and I did not like the louder noise, so I put it back in for a quieter motor.

Ya sorry,...Ranger_EDGE's video is correct. Remove the top part of the airbox..then pry the rest up from the bottom right...the 2 rubber clad tabs to the left are held in place by the whole assembly and require no force at all to remove. If you are installing a cold air intake or other,..it's advised that you keep the airbox and any other parts you remove.
