Default Suspension noise

So on decent sized pumps, such as speed pumps, I get some noise coming from the front end. I don't think it would be a shock. Its not a squeak but more of a scruntching sound, like a spring. Which parts should I take a look at?

id bet its a bad shock. mine did the same thing. replaced both shocks and the noise when away. get under your truck and rock it back and forth and see if you can pinpoint the noise

Could also be a bad ball joint, mine was doing that and after a ball joint replacement no more squeak.

Well now I have replaced the shocks. I took it on a test drive but the noise is still there. I noticed while I was up in there that there were some rubber joints of some kind, one right behind the wheel and one up top, on the suspension arm that were dry rotted and falling a part. I have no idea what the names of the pieces are that I was looking at.

Looks like your describing ball joints. The one right behind the wheel is the lower ball joint (naturally) other is the upper ball joint (the arm your describing is the upper control arm). I would say those are your problem. Depending on how much you want to spend they are anywhere from $20 -$60 a peice, I would spend the extra and get the Moog, etc. you get what you pay for. If you have Torsion bar suspension your going to have to change the whole upper control arm and ball joint they are one peice, if you have coil springs you don't have to.

Really? I was picking up parts when I did mine and that was what they told me... I don't have any experience with the coil springs so I really didn't know. Thanks for clearing that up sorry for the missinformation on my part brother.
