So my 05 ranger EDGE has been in the shop going on 2 weeks now. I went out to start it one morning and it tried to start but wouldn't. I had to have tried 20 times. Had it towed, wouldn't start there, said it was the fuel pump. Dropped the tank, and had to wait on the part, while they waited they put the tank back on. The next day they went out and it started right up, then it sat over night and again the next day started right up. So they said don't worry about it. I brought it home, let it sit, it started right up. Drove to work, 30 miles, went out to go to lunch, wouldn't start. Had it towed, to the Ford dealership this time. It got there they looked at it the next day, it starts just fine. No check engine light, nothing, won't produce a code. What's going on. The fuel tank is 3/4 full. It's been cold but not much below freezing. I don't want to spend $900 on something that is a $100 fix.


Thoughts?

check all connection, I had a junky Blazer that did that for yrs, ... it was a bad relay, sometime it wld get contact, sometimes none...

I had an intermitted problem like that on my 94. After everything else I cleaned the relay contacts and the female board contacts with fine emery cloth. It never happened again ....So Far..LOL
