Default Broken ignition after attempted truck theft-how to secure?

Someone broke into my truck by forcing the back sliding window open and busted my ignition so that the truck starts without a key. Of course, I can't get it in to be fixed until next week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can secure the vehicle? Is there something I can put in the window so that it can't be forced open? Also, is there anything I can do at all about the ignition? I really don't want to have to sleep in my truck so that some creep doesn't steal it. Grrr.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Put the club on the wheel...yes they work...as far as the back window goes unless you drill a steel plate there they will find their way in, go to another window if they want to get in bad enough. You will need a new ignition, so check with your insurance co. See if they will cover it, hopefully you made a police report. If you need help, I'll send Craig " The Animal " Down there to roll the next person who walks by it

I will go get a club today. I did file a police report, so I will call my insurance as well. I could totally use Craig "The Animal" right about now! I'm sure a thief would get a good laugh whilst watching me swing my purse at him. lol.
Thanks, Clinton. I appreciate your help.

my truck was broken into 2 years ago. They took the entire bezel, ripped it right out, the ENTIRE thing! Stole my 12's I had sitting on my 10's. The worst part tho is that day we were pulling my dads sportster (mine now) out of the basement. I had my truck in 4 low. Since the bezel was gone, my truck was stuck in low range, I had to drive it like that for a week until I got the new switch in.

Ugh. I don't understand people who think they are entitled to stuff that isn't theirs. Funny thing is...my truck isn't fancy or anything. You'd think they would try to steal a really nice truck somewhere.

Did that make you so angry that you wanted to run over someone's feet so they couldn't move and then pull all of their hair out? I'm a little ashamed to admit that the thought of doing that to the person who broke into my truck made me extremely happy for a moment. haha.

I would pull out your starter relay. Engine wont turn over without this. If you have a manual it can be roll started. I think there is a relay for your computer (PCM), you can pull this and i think it may crank and not start or not crank at all. OOOOOORR remove the 175 AMP maxi fuse on your battery junction box. THis cuts power to everything and its something you can't really pick out that quickly. This fuse is bolted in.

LOL. Yes, I teach college English. You know, correcting grammar day in and day out can make a person a little edgy.

I actually thought about the starter relay, but it's a manual, so I figured it wouldn't do any good. I did get a club for the wheel, so I hope that's good enough until next week. Thanks for the advice!

Here is a free idea to secure your back window. Cut a small piece of wood to the length from your slider when its shut to the edge of the frame of the window and wedge it in so it can't be opened. I do this in the summer when I have window A/C units in my house. People also do it with sliding glass doors in their houses.

When I first came across the "i do this in the summer when I have window a/c units" my first thought was you putting a window unit in your truck, then I read "in my house"
