Default frame cross member compatability, '97 and '00?

I asked this question in the classified section, but haven't gotten an answer yet.

my '97 ext cab cross members (the three under the bed) have varying amounts of rust. 2 aren't too bad, but one, really should be replaced.

zack, a poster here, is parting out his '00 ext cab. will his '00 cross members fit my '97?

from the reading i've done, it looks like there was some major changes in '98, so i fear they may be different.

does anyone know for sure?

It will, but it'd be better to get the 97 on another 97 frame, the frame ends are different and you'd have to weld the older core support in.

when you say frame ends, do you mean the end of the main frame rails? this would affect the rear crossmember possibly, but shouldn't affect the middle one, which is the one that needs replacing the most.

i think i will need to visit the bone yard with my camera and a tape measure and do a little investigating on my own.

I dont think that the frames are the same width. When I did my 2000 fornt end cnversion, the cab mounts were wider by 3" than my '97's.
