Default I'm gonna go crazy without A/C

Hello everyone,

I have a problem that I'm trying to solve... Before I ask the question, it may be best to explain that I am not mechanically inclined but I've recently purchased a set of tools and I'm about to break down a get a Haynes Manual.

I say this so that anyone who lends me any advice would know that you'd have to speak a little "Simple" to me. Maybe more than you probably would with anyone experienced.

My question is what can cause this...: My 2002 Edge has an A/C issue. I can cut the A/C on and it'll be 35, 45-60 mins before I get any cold air to come in. Once the A/C starts cooling it's not as cold as it normally is.

I've checked Freon levels, the compressor is fine... I have no idea what the problem is. Unfortunately I'm in a situation where I have to fix this issue my self.

Does anyone know what may be causing this issue? I'm thinking and electrical shortage, maybe?

Check the A/C condensor. It may be plugged up with dirt & bugs. It looks like a small radiator located on the front of the radiator.

if you know anyone with the recharging hose that some autoparts stores sell have them put a can on their hose and the better ones will have a gauge on them and check your freeon{r12} or whatever name you know it by. low levels can cause simular problems.

yeah, quite commonly low freon levels can cause that but if the levels are fine then my next guess would be condensor or compressor or maybe even electrical after the others
