recently bought a 2000 Ranger XLT. There is a whistling noise coming from the front end of the truck. It is super irritating and i want it GONE! Though it may have been the dust seals so i greased them up hoping for an easy fix...did not work. I've been looking all over to see if anyone else had similar problems but couldn't find any related articles.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

cant tell if you're being serious or if you're mocking me?

if you're serious, its a loud whistling sound (as stated in my first post) that is constant when the truck is moving. the pitch changes when i hit bumps or potholes.

i know this post is pretty old but were u able to resolve the problem?
i own a 99 ranger and have the same problem. especially after it rained it started making that whistling noise as the wheel turns and not the brakes.
i changed my brake pads today either way, and greased up the gear bearing hoping it would go away and still there

hubs, hubs, hubs? is it a 4x4?

yeah its a 4x4. i was hoping i wouldn't have to purchase and replace the whole hub assembly.

It may just need to be regreased or something. I lubed my left hub up because I heard it squeal when it was in 4 low or high, and bam, noise be gone. Of course if you hear it in your engine bay it could be something more like a vaccum leak or your intake
