I have a 1996 Ranger extended cab. When I fill the tank everything is fine until the pump turns off on its own. As soon as the pump kicks off some gas will pour out onto the ground. No gas spills out while it is fillling, just when the pump kicks off when the tank is full. Do I need to replace the fuel filler neck?

It could definitely be the filler neck. Mine is in the shop for warranty work on the filler neck right now, and it had similar symptoms, except the cracks were lower on the neck so fuel would leak before the pump would kick off. They charge around $200 at goodyear for the job, so I'd say DIY if you can.

I also have a spilling problem. Everytime i fill up my 4.0 liter Ranger money spills out my wallet. Lovely car though. Hope you find a solution for your problem.
