Default Looking for 1994 Ranger Fuel Tank - Any ideas?

I've got a 1994 Ranger XLT, 3.0L, standard, built 7/94. It has an unrepairable crack in the fuel tank. The close Ford dealer can't get a replacement. Neither can the other Ford dealer I asked. The aftermarket doesn't seem to have tanks to fit this model. When I call, I'm just told it's not something they can get. I haven't been able to find a junkyard in Phoenix with one, and I'm a little hesitant to buy a used one sight unseen. Anybody have any ideas what to do now?

I appreciate any help. I've been babying this thing for 16 years, and don't want to put her down.

94 should be a pretty common year at the JY. Have you tried any around you?

There is always the keg option lol

LMC has tanks through '88, but not further. What I've been finding is that aftermarket tanks are available before the early '90's and after the mid '90's. There's kind of a black hole in the center. It's surprising, really. Thanks for the assist, though/

Did you try Rock Auto? I just bought a tank for the wife's Protege5--locally everybody wanted almost $500 for one, I got it from RA for $225 delivered. If they have one, search for a Discount Code-it'll save you another 5%.

It took a month, but I found someone parting out a Ranger with a decent tank in it. I found several that had the same issue as mine (cracks). If this one goes, I might go to a local shop and have them just fab a tank that will fit. It might have less capacity, but I only drive around town anyway. And, it might not be worth it...

VH5150,
I went to the Rock Auto website. It a cool site and thanks for the info. I think they have everything else except for fuel tanks.

I know this is an old thread, but I've got the same issue and don't see it resolved elsewhere.

Did you ever find a replacement tank? I've been looking everywhere and it seems the parts folks have everything but this tank.
