Just hit 100,000
Well i was just wondering if there are any specific things i should do, other than the normal routine maintenence, so i can get 100,000 more out it. It's a 1997 4.0L V6 DOHC and after light driving i can smell some burning oil, it always has plenty in it but wasn't sure if there is anything i should do to help that? Other than that everything is in pretty good shape. Thanks

Mitch you're like two towns over! Keep an eye on the oil situation and maybe switch to high mileage oil.

Re: Just hit 100,000
Will hit 78000 in my 97 tomorrow lol Change your oil to a good synthetic, maybe a high mileage oil, which basically just means that you will get oil that cleans better. Change your plugs and wires, check your timing belt or replace the bastard, change your differential fluids, maybe have your tranny flushed, do a coolant flush, and just drive like a sane human being.

No problem man lol Been a great truck for me, just gotta keep up on the maintenance. I also drive a lot of freeway, so I set the cruise and go. Just take her easy, you'll get another 100k out of her no problem.
