Default Parking Brake Won't Properly Release

Had my truck parked on the ramp going into the shed and it was the first time I've used the parking brake since I installed the body lift in June. Now back in February or March I used it at my friend's house and I drove 6 miles before it finally released. This was before I installed the Lift. What can I do to make sure it releases properly. As you can tell I dont use it too often. But its gotten colder here in the last few days, could that have something to do with it as well?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

im not sure if it has anything to do with the body lift at all but just to be sure get under the truck and have someone depress the parking brake and watch to see if the cable moves like its supposed to. if it does than its time to service the rear brakes. i had mine hang up on me once and it was because the linkages in the drum where seized up from lack of use, i hardly ever use mine. in my case i needed new shoes anyways so i did that with a new hardware kit and i greased the parking brake components good and have never had an issue since.

You might need to get a longer cable then. I've heard of that being a problem from time to time doing a lift.

That could be it. Those things have to be used regularly to keep them from gumming up from rust, grime, and what not...
