Default Steering noise question

I have a 2005 with steering rack i get a crunching noise in the steering i checked wheel bearings and things .I concluded it come's from the steering rack at the little joint inside the rubber boot. If one takes and pushes up and down on the rod it makes a little clicking noise in there ? Does this mean the joint is bad ? there are no leaks i have never had one of these apart is the joint replaceable or does one replace the whole rack? I sure would appreciate some advise on this problem .

Thank You Dusty

Default Re: Steering noise question

The inner tie rod ends are replaceable but I've never had to do one on any vehicle I've had.
