Default High Pitched Squealing Noise

Hey there.

I went wheeling earlier today after work with some friends. As I pulled onto the road when we finished I heard a bunch of thunking, I pulled over and there were a bunch of weeds around the driveshafts. After I got them all off I went on my way and heard A high pitched squeaking or squealing sound or even like there were still some weeds going around the driveshaft and brushing the muffler. When I got home I crawled underneath and pulled all the grass and weeds, mud , etc. out. then I sprayed it all down with the hose. but the noise still seems to be there. I am worried that it is the transmission or something. with the gears. It only seems to do it going forward and at lower speeds (5-30 mph) then either the wind gets too loud for me to hear it or it goes away, I'm not sure. It's a 2002 XLT 4x4 4.0
I know I mentioned a lot but I don't want to leave anything out.
Thanks ahead of time.
I will see if I can get a video of the sound later tonight when I get back home.

UPDATE:
ok so on the way to school I found out that it does it at all speeds I went up to 75 mph and still heard the noise. Also I have a new theory about the source of the noise I think it is coming from the front wheels and if I had to pick one it would be the drivers front. but it could be both. it will also do it in reverse. I am thinking that there is some dirt stuck under the breaks or something like that. I will most likely take the wheels off tonight and clean them real good. just to see if that helps
